In the semi-finals, Siner defeated No. 4 in the world Novak Djokovic of Serbia 6:2, 6:7(0), 6:4. The match lasted 2 hours and 27 minutes.
After the second set, Djokovic requested medical attention for a problem in his right shoulder.
