Romania's FA has expressed its disappointment at the turn of events in Friday night's aborted Nations League match against Kosovo . In Romania, they defined the actions of the Kosovar football players as premeditated.
The match was halted in stoppage time and later abandoned at 0-0 in Bucharest after Kosovo's players left the field upset by pro-Serbian chants from the stands.
"The Romanian Football Federation expresses its deep disappointment regarding the behavior of the Kosovo delegation and its players,”, the headquarters said in a statement.
"We consider the accusations by Kosovo unfounded and firmly believe that their actions were premeditated," said the Romanian Federation, quoted by AP.
The federation denied that there were any offensive chants by Romania fans against Kosovo.
"It is important to emphasize that during the match there were no racist chants, not once was the slogan "Kosovo is Serbia" chanted. "We find it unfortunate that a football team chose to leave the pitch and retire to the dressing room just two minutes before the final whistle, given that the result was not in their favour," the statement added.
