The Kremlin announced on Monday that it would hold military exercises , which will include training to use tactical nuclear weapons in response to statements by Western officials that Russia's Defense Ministry has identified as provocative threats, Reuters reported.
The exercise was ordered by President Vladimir Putin and aims to test the readiness of Russia's non-strategic nuclear forces to carry out combat missions.
The deployment and preparation for the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons will be trained. Missile formations from the Southern Military District and the Naval Forces of the Russian Federation will participate in the exercise. The Ministry of Defense of Russia explains that it is aimed at guaranteeing the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country "in response to provocative statements and threats by some Western officials against the Russian Federation".
No names are being named, but Russia has repeatedly said that French President Emmanuel Macron's remarks about possible French intervention in Ukraine are extremely dangerous. Russia says the United States and its European allies are pushing the world to the brink of nuclear confrontation by backing Kiev with tens of billions of dollars worth of weapons in the fight against Russian forces that invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
