A valuable target! The Ukrainian army destroyed a fighter of the special group "Russian Knights"

" ;As a result of a Ukrainian long-range attack, Russia lost at least three fighter jets, one of which belongs to the aerobatic team "Russian Knights" (Russian knights)", reports Defense Express.

On the night of May 19, Ukrainian drones successfully attacked the Russian airport "Kushchevskaya" in the Krasnodar region of Russia. The airport is located 250 km from the front line and now combat aviation is based there, including Su-34 bombers.

High-quality satellite images released by RFE/RL show the results of this attack. Ukrainian UAVs managed to damage a Su-34 front-line bomber, as well as Su-27 and Su-30 fighters. The photo was taken on May 23, four days after the strike, meaning the Russians may have already removed some of the damaged aircraft.

The aircraft, designated Su-27, may be given additional attention, as it has the standard coloring in the colors of the special group "Russian Knights", notes the Ukrainian media.

This aviation group operates the Su-27, including the four-seater Su-27P and the two-seater Su-27UB. In 2016, however, "Russian Knights" received eight Su-30SM aircraft.

Subsequently, from 2019, pilots began to switch to the Su-35, which in satellite images looks similar to the Su-27P.

Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that on May 19, at least three unmanned aerial vehicles were not shot down by the Russian air defense system and struck the territory of the military airport in the village of Kushchevskaya. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out, a Russian SU-27 supersonic fighter jet and the airport infrastructure were damaged.
