The Georgian Prime Minister announced an ambitious plan: I want to take back Abkhazia and South Ossetia

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze in a speech in honor of the Independence Day of the country announced its desire to return Abkhazia and South Ossetia to Georgia. The Prime Minister's speech was published on the social network X.

"Our Georgian dream is to live in a united and strong Georgia by 2030 together with our Abkhazian and Ossetian brothers and sisters," he wrote.

Kobakhidze adds that Georgia should become a full member of the European Union in 2030.

Earlier, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze argued the need for the law on foreign agents, saying that the authorities did not want "Ukrainization" of the country, "Maidan" and "second front" against Russia.

Foreign Policy reported, citing a senior EU official, that the European Commission may not confirm Georgia's EU candidate status if the law on foreign agents is not repealed. The Financial Times wrote that a number of European Union countries are considering sanctions against the Georgian authorities, including the suspension of the visa-free regime, because of the law on foreign agents.
