About 60 fighters and other combat aircraft will take part in tactical air force exercises of NATO, which begin today at an air base in Germany, reported DPA and BTA.
In the maneuvers "Tiger meat" (Tiger Meet) in Jagel, in the northern province of Schleswig-Holstein, will involve around 1,100 military personnel from 11 NATO countries, as well as Austria and Switzerland. The exercises will continue until June 14.
The goal of the exercise is to strengthen cooperation with partner countries and exchange aviation and technical experience, the German armed forces said. The Bundeswehr noted that every day the host country will set a scenario that will gradually become more complicated.
The maneuvers in Jagel are one of the largest exercises for joint air combat operations in Europe and provide particularly valuable experience for the crews involved, the military emphasized.
