Most MPs from the far-right party "Alternative for Germany" (AzG), as well as members of a radical left party, boycotted today's speech by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky before the Bundestag, the lower house of the German parliament, journalists from France Press reported, BTA reported.

„We refuse to listen to a speaker dressed in camouflage”, explained the leadership of AzG in a statement, arguing that “Ukraine does not need a president of war, but a president of peace”.

The radical left movement "Sarah Wagenknecht Alliance" (ASV) said it wanted to send a “sign of solidarity with all those Ukrainians who want an immediate ceasefire and a negotiated solution”, a representative of the political formation told AFP.

In his speech to the Bundestag, Zelensky called for Russia to never be allowed to "divide" Ukraine, making a historical parallel with the Berlin Wall.

"A divided Europe has never been peaceful. And a divided Germany was never happy. You know this from your own experience... we are doing absolutely everything to prevent the existence of a wall between different parts of our country," Zelensky said.
