USA: Russia's actions are a serious threat to Bulgaria

The Russian Federation wants to establish complete control over the Black Sea and with its attacks on civilian ports and ships trying to turn food into weapons. Moscow's actions pose a threat to Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania, but also to the world as a whole, warned the US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink from Odessa during the Black Sea Security Forum, a UNIAN correspondent reports.

The American diplomat stressed that Ukraine stopped Russia in the Black Sea when it was about to establish full operational control over the region. In particular, this applies to the control of the movement of civilian merchant ships with various cargoes, including food.

"We remember the constant attacks on Odessa, despite Russia's attempts to take control of the region, this poses a danger not only to Ukraine, but also to Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania... Russia is trying to turn food into a weapon,”, said Brink categorically. .

She recalled the great importance of collective security and added that the partners see progress with the construction of a humanitarian corridor. The ambassador added that she was amazed how the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) managed to "push” the Russian ships from a certain part of the Black Sea.

"About 1,850 ships left the ports of Ukraine and transported thousands of tons of various cargoes. The corridor ensures the economic stability of Ukraine and the possibility of recovery... I feel the economic vitality of Odessa, the ports and businesses are working”, noted Brink.
