Le Pen's party to overtake Macron - 1

The right-wing National Unity (RN) party will overtake President Emmanuel Macron's coalition in the early parliamentary elections by more than 13%, according to a survey by opinion polling service Opinionway for Echos.

33% of respondents are ready to vote for RN. In second place is the National Front, newly formed by the parties of the left, socialists and environmentalists, supported by 25% of voters. The presidential coalition is only in third place with 20% of the votes.

At the same time, another 7% are ready to vote for the Republicans, with whom the RN made an agreement and divided the constituencies, and in 70 of them the parties will not put candidates against each other.

The RN could thus win up to 245 seats in parliament, giving this right-wing party a relative majority.

The survey was conducted online on June 12 and 13 and 1,011 people participated.

In the European Parliament elections in France on June 9, the right-wing National Unity party more than doubled the coalition of supporters of President Emmanuel Macron, winning 31.36% of the vote. Subsequently, Macron announced the dissolution of the National Assembly, the lower house of the French parliament, and the holding of early parliamentary elections in two rounds - on June 30 and July 7.

The lower house of the French Parliament has 577 deputies. Before the dissolution of the RN parliament, it was represented by 88 deputies, the coalition of the left LFI-Nupes - 75 parliamentarians. After the parliamentary elections in June 2022, when Macron was re-elected as president for a second term, his coalition did not get an absolute majority in parliament. The ruling coalition was represented by 250 deputies, the opposition by 320. Another seven parliamentarians were not from any political party.
