German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will hold a discussion with the premiers of the German states in Berlin, reports DPA and BTA to address the complex problem of illegal migration.
Provinces governed by the conservative Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) parties are demanding a change in the way asylum procedures are conducted and are proposing that these processes be carried out in third countries, outside the borders of the EU.< /p>
Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Fesser took the initiative to further study this proposal, engaging experts to undertake the task. The results of their deliberations are eagerly awaited.
Another topic that will be discussed on the agenda of the meeting is the potential lifting of bans on the deportation of people who have committed serious crimes, specifically targeting Afghanistan and Syria.
