The black boxes from the plane that crashed in Washington on Wednesday have been found and sent for decoding, ABC reported.
According to sources on the television, the devices recording conversations in the cockpit and the plane's flight parameters have been pulled from the Potomac River and sent to the National Transportation Safety Board.
24 hours before the plane crash in the sky over Washington, a helicopter prevented another plane from landing, the "Washington Post" reported, citing studied audio recordings of radio conversations.
According to the agency, a Republic Airways flight from Hartford, The Connecticut, Washington, D.C., plane was approaching for a landing when a helicopter appeared in its path. The plane had to make another go-around and landed on its next attempt.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump signed a memorandum for an immediate review of the country's air safety.
It includes a provision requiring airlines to hire employees based on their abilities, not on the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Trump said he did not know whether the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) DEI policy was a factor in the crash, but said "incompetence played a role".
Earlier Thursday, Trump, speaking at the White House about the Washington plane crash, suggested that the previous administration's DEI principles "may have been" a factor in the tragedy. He said that the "drive for diversity" in government has led to the hiring of "people with serious intellectual and mental disabilities".
