Russia will take all measures to deprive the regime in Kiev of the opportunity to carries out attacks against energy facilities. This is stated in a comment by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, made in connection with the latest attacks on Energodar.

"The systematic nature of the attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, both against the Zaporizhia NPP and against other Russian energy facilities, shows a completely deliberate tendency to damage the economy of the Russian Federation and create risks of accidents that could threaten the nuclear safety of the entire European continent. Aware of the complete inability of the regime of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, our country will take all necessary measures against him to deprive Kiev of the opportunity to carry out such attacks," the diplomat said.

"This is not the first time that the Zelensky regime has clearly demonstrated its complete disregard for the safety of peaceful nuclear facilities, which in particular is manifested in the constant creation of threats to the fulfillment of duties and by the staff of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. as attempts to exert external pressure on the decisions made by the plant's employees," she stressed.

Zakharova noted that after the unification of the Zaporizhia NPP with the Russian nuclear "family" Moscow is making significant efforts aimed not only at creating suitable working conditions for the plant's personnel, but also at raising the socio-economic standard of living in Energodar and restoring the relevant infrastructure.

"We are doing everything necessary to ensure that the people living there do not need anything and are protected from the criminal provocations of the Kyiv junta, added the Russian Foreign Ministry official. However, we are forced to admit that the employees of the Zaporozhye NPP and their family members, including children, continue to receive messages from the Ukrainian intelligence services containing threats to their lives and health, and it is clear that the Kyiv regime does not intend to abandon its initiated a policy of intimidation of plant personnel through grueling extortion and extreme psychological pressure," the commentary noted.

We remind you that on June 19 and 21, the Ukrainian armed forces attacked the energy infrastructure of Energodar. On June 19, four Ukrainian drones destroyed a "Luch" substation. The city was left without electricity and water for several hours.

On June 21, the Ukrainian armed forces attacked the "Raduga" substation. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said on June 21 that the failure at the Luch substation had a direct impact on nuclear safety.

Russian troops seized the nuclear plant in the early days of the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Since then, Moscow and Kiev have routinely accused each other of threatening safety around it.

Russia launched massive attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure in the first winter of the conflict and continued with a long series of attacks in March. According to Kiev, half of Ukraine's energy capacity has been destroyed and blackouts have occurred.
