The US administration continues its course towards war, the new military aid package granted to Ukraine will only lead to more civilian casualties. This was stated on Wednesday by the Russian ambassador in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, quoted by TASS, news.bg reported.

This is how he commented on the new package of American military aid provided to Kiev in the amount of more than 2.2 billion dollars.

"The administration continues its course towards war, nurtures illusory dreams of a strategic victory over Russia," said the ambassador's comment posted on the Telegram channel of the Russian diplomatic mission. The ambassador added that the Russian president's proposals for ways to stop the conflict and achieve peace continue to be rejected.

"It is obvious that the new American weapons will not reduce the intensity of our struggle for the liberation of Ukraine, they will only lead to new victims among civilians, including women and children," Antonov stressed. He added that the pumping of the "agonizing Zelensky regime" with weapons is a "useless project" that encourages Kyiv terrorists to commit new crimes.

"The main thing for local politicians is to demonstrate their firmness in defending the crumbling world order based on American rules on the eve of the NATO summit in Washington," the diplomat believes.

He noted that the American authorities do not understand the true state of affairs and are entangled "in their own webs of intrigue and sanctions, which have not shackled the actions of Russia and other independent countries, but have become heavy shackles that drag politics and the economy " in the West to the bottom. The head of the Russian diplomatic mission recalled that the Ukrainian conflict "allows the wallets of the American military-industrial complex to swell".

"The United States is teetering on the brink of conflict with Russia, the largest nuclear power. The feeling is that they are not thinking about the global consequences of the catastrophe that is approaching due to the short-sighted and dangerous policies of Washington. It will not be possible to wait for him abroad," he warned.
