Russia and China are conducting a joint maritime patrol in the Korea Strait, RIA informs News.
The Russian Pacific Fleet said the patrol was carried out by its corvette "Совершенный" together with a detachment of warships of the Chinese navy.
Russia said the ships would conduct "joint anti-submarine and air defense operations, as well as search and rescue operations at sea.
"The objectives of the joint patrols are to strengthen naval cooperation between Russia and China, maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, monitor the maritime area and protect the maritime economic activities of the Russian Federation and China,'' the Pacific Fleet said of Russia.
