The Israeli missile defense system "Iron Dome" may not provide the necessary level of protection and may not cope with a coordinated attack from Iran and its allies, writes the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal.
"Iron Dome" allows Israel to effectively shoot down short-range missiles, but Iran and the Lebanese group "Hezbollah" have "completely different capabilities", the editorial office emphasizes. Iran has drones and ballistic missiles that the Israeli air defense system cannot shoot down, and "Hezbollah" has an arsenal of tens of thousands of missiles, including precision-guided ones, which can overload it.
To avoid such a scenario, a more powerful air defense system was created with the participation of Washington, which includes the air forces of Israel, the United States and other countries, as well as radar systems in neighboring countries. The work of this system is coordinated by the US Central Command (CENTCOM). This allows Israel to interact, including with those Arab countries with which it has no diplomatic relations, writes WSJ.
Serious doubts in Jerusalem! Israeli air defense may not be able to cope with a powerful attack from Iran and Hezbollah simultaneously
