The National Meteorological Service of Greece warned today of a significant deterioration of the weather from this evening until Wednesday afternoon, reports in Kathimerini, quoted by BTA.
A low atmospheric pressure system that has formed in the western part of the Mediterranean Sea is moving eastward and is expected to bring strong storms and heavy rainfall to different parts of Greece, affecting mostly the west, central and north areas of mainland Greece, as well as the northern and eastern islands of the Aegean Sea.
Lightning, hail and strong gusty winds are expected. There is also a danger of flooding.
Residents of the affected areas are advised to be cautious and follow the latest information on the meteorological situation.
