Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Lebanon has become a new target for Israel to implement its policies of genocide and occupation. “Lebanon and its people are the new target of Israel's policy of genocide, occupation and invasion, which it has been conducting since October 7 in the region. Brutal Israeli attacks have killed large numbers of Lebanese, including children, over the past week. No one in conscience can accept or justify this massacre. The Israeli government is acting more and more recklessly because it is justified by other forces that give it arms and ammunition for this massacre”, Erdogan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
According to him, “Israel challenges all humanity, human values and international law”. “Israel's attempts to extend the policy of madness it is pursuing in Gaza and Ramallah to Lebanon and other countries in the region must be stopped. We call on all structures and all human rights organizations whose responsibility it is to guarantee global peace, stability and security, and especially the UN Security Council, to take urgent measures, said the Turkish leader.
He also stressed that “the Islamic world must take a firmer stance against these attacks.“
„Turkey will continue to support the Lebanese people and government in these difficult days. We condemn these inhumane Israeli attacks on Lebanon and offer our condolences to all our Lebanese brothers”, Erdogan said.
