On the eve of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chinese President Xi Jinping awarded the National order of friendship former president of Brazil Dilma Rousseff, Xinhua agency reported.
According to him, the awarding ceremony took place in the House of the National Assembly (Parliament). Honorary degrees and state awards have been awarded to both foreign and Chinese nationals. This time 15 people were awarded.

The Order of Friendship has been approved as a state award by the Law of the People's Republic of China “On State Awards and State Honors”, which came into effect on January 1, 2016. It is awarded only to foreign nationals who have special contributions to China's nation-building and modernization, the development of relations and cooperation between the PRC and foreign countries, and the maintenance of peace throughout the world. In 2018, this award was received by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
