Russia's air defense units destroyed 47 Ukrainian drones targeting the western regions of the country, the Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday, quoted by "Reuters".
About 24 drones were shot down over southwestern Bryansk region, and the rest were destroyed over Belgorod, Kursk, Rostov and Krasnodar regions and the waters of the Sea of Azov, the ministry said on the Telegram messaging app.
A fire caused by debris that fell in an undeveloped area in the southern Rostov region bordering Ukraine was immediately extinguished, regional governor Vasily Golubev said on Telegram, adding that there was no other damage.
The head of Bryansk, Alexander Bogomaz, said emergency services were working at places where debris fell, without saying if there was any damage.
There is no comment from Ukraine. Russian officials rarely reveal the full extent of the damage caused by the Ukrainian attacks.
