President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the situation on the battlefield "creates an opportunity" to take steps to end the war in Ukraine no later than 2025, reported the “Reuters“ agency, quoted by UNIAN.
"In October, November and December we have the chance to move things towards peace and lasting stability. The situation on the battlefield creates an opportunity for us to make this choice - a choice of decisive action to end the war no later than 2025," the Ukrainian president said at the Ukraine-Southeast Europe meeting in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Zelensky's comment is unusual, considering that the situation on the battlefield is in favor of the Russian army, which continues to advance in Donbass.
According to experts, there is currently fatigue among Western countries and there is even information from diplomatic sources that NATO is putting pressure on Kiev to sit at the negotiating table.
However, Zelensky has repeatedly emphasized that his country is not inclined to give up its lands occupied by Russia.
