The Israeli army said it was investigating the possibility that the leader of "Hamas" Yahya Sinuar was among those killed in an operation in the Gaza Strip, whose target, according to the military, were three extremists, reported Reuters.
"At this stage, the identity of the terrorists cannot be confirmed," said an IDF statement.
From there, they add that there is no evidence that there were hostages in the building during the liquidation of the three extremists.
Sinwar, the main architect of the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel that sparked the Gaza war, was declared the leader of "Hamas" after the assassination of his predecessor Ismail Haniya in Tehran in August.
