After the killing of Yahya Sinwar, Israel searches for his brother - 1

Israel is actively searching for Mohammed Sinwar, the brother of the slain Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, as well as all Hamas military commanders, IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said. According to him, the IDF will continue to operate in Gaza against the terrorists and their infrastructure, with the focus being on the search for key figures from the group, reports News.bg.

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was killed in Rafah yesterday, and during the operation 40,000 shekels, a bulletproof vest and a gun were found in his possession. Hagari presented drone footage showing Sinuar's final moments.

"We shot at the building and went in to search it. "We found him with a bulletproof vest, a gun and 40,000 shekels," Hagari explained, adding that Sinuar had been identified as a terrorist but was not known to be him.

According to information, Sinuar has been moving in the tunnels in the area for some time and may have been trying to "escape north to safer areas".

The IDF had been tracking him for months, with his DNA found in a tunnel several hundred meters from where Hamas killed six hostages in August.

In addition to the actions against Hamas, Hagari revealed that soldiers from the "Golani" have captured members of "Hezbollah" in the incident that killed five Israeli soldiers.

Israel considers Yahya Sinuar the "brains" of the October 7 attacks that led to the ground invasion of Gaza. Having not been seen in public since October last year, he was believed to be hiding in the network of tunnels under Gaza.

After the liquidation of Ismail Haniya, Yahya Sinuwar assumed the leadership position at the head of "Hamas".

Sinowar, known for his ruthless style, was elected leader of the group in the Gaza Strip in 2017.
