The increase in North Korean military support for Russia is “very worrying“, the French Foreign Ministry said today, quoted by France Presse, writes BTA.
Earlier, South Korean intelligence said North Korea had deployed an initial contingent of 1,500 special forces troops to Vladivostok and would soon send more.
"The increase in North Korean cooperation and support for Russian military efforts in Ukraine is very worrying,” said French Foreign Ministry spokesman Christophe Lemoine.
In his words, if this information of the South Korean intelligence turns out to be true, it will be an extremely alarming and serious development of events
"We can only call on North Korea and Russia to comply with the resolutions of the UN Security Council”, the spokesman also commented.
NATO cannot confirm at this stage that North Korea has deployed troops to Russia, said Alliance Secretary General Mark Rutte.
