The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces have captured the village of Zoryanoe, in eastern Ukraine, AFP and Reuters reported.
This brings Moscow's forces even closer to Kurakhove, west of the city of Donetsk, which is already under Russian control.
This morning, Russia also carried out airstrikes with drones, guided bombs and cruise missiles in many parts of Ukraine, DPA reported. About 15 regions were affected, including the southern Mykolaiv and central Dnipropetrovsk regions, according to a statement from the Ukrainian air defense published in "Telegram".
According to the authorities in Sumy region, seven people were injured. Parts of the energy infrastructure were also destroyed.
An air alert was also declared in the capital Kyiv during the night. According to local authorities, all drones have been destroyed. A woman was hospitalized after being injured by debris from a fallen drone.
