The Israeli army announced that about 200 shells were fired on Saturday by the group “Hezbollah” from Lebanon, where Israel launched a ground offensive against the pro-Iranian Islamist movement in the southern part of the country, AFP reported, quoted by BTA.

At 23:00 on Saturday (local time), “about 200 shells fired by the terrorist organization “Hezbollah” crossed (the border) from Lebanon into Israel,”, the army said in a statement. The shells were fired mainly in the northern part of the country, with warning sirens sounding throughout the morning in the region.

Iran announced that the Lebanese movement “Hezbollah”, which is supported financially and militarily by Tehran, was behind the drone attack in Israel against the private residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, AFP reported, quoted by BTA.

Heavily armed elite police units raided a house in the Berlin suburb of Bernau, and in the city of St. Augustin in western Germany, an apartment was searched in connection with the same case, reports “Bild“.

According to the newspaper, the authorities acted on a tip from an unnamed foreign intelligence agency.

The arrested man is expected to appear before an investigating judge at the Karlsruhe court today. The judge must decide whether the suspect will remain in custody while the investigation continues, DPA explains.
