Xi Jinping: The international situation is in chaos, only China and Russia can stabilize it - 1

The international situation is in chaos, but Beijing's strategic partnership with Moscow is a force for stability amid the most significant changes seen in a century. This was stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping, quoted by Reuters.

In the month of May, the two leaders promised a "new era" of a partnership between the two most powerful rivals of the United States, which they portray as an aggressive Cold War hegemon wreaking havoc on the world.

The world is currently going through changes not seen for a hundred years, the international situation is intertwined with chaos. But I firmly believe that the friendship between China and Russia will continue for generations, and the responsibility of great countries to their peoples will not change, the Chinese president said at the opening of the BRICS summit in Kazan.

The United States has identified China as its biggest competitor and Russia as its biggest threat to the nation-state, and President Joe Biden has said that democracies are being challenged by autocracies like China and Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called Xi a "dear friend". He noted that Russian-Chinese cooperation in world affairs is one of the main stabilizing factors on the world stage. We intend to further improve the coordination of all multilateral platforms to ensure global security and a just world order, Putin also said.

According to Xi Jinping, BRICS cooperation is the most important platform for solidarity and cooperation between emerging market countries and developing countries in the world today. He pointed out that this is a major force in promoting the realization of equal and organized global multipolarity, as well as inclusive and tolerant economic globalization.
