Norway to buy from the United States AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM air defense missiles for over ($362.91 million), reports "Reuters".
"With more and newer missiles, the Norwegian Armed Forces will have a better ability to defend Norway against air attacks," said Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram.
The missiles are primarily intended for Norway's ground-based air defense system, but can also be included in the armament of the F-35A fighter jets.
The order is among the largest single arms deliveries ever made to the Norwegian Armed Forces.
Norway, which is a NATO member and borders Russia, has pledged to increase defense spending after Moscow's forces invaded Ukraine.
