Kremlin denies reports that US President-elect Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin these days. According to Reuters, the Kremlin specified that Putin still has no concrete plans for contact with his future American counterpart, quoted by BTA.
The conversation was first reported in the "Washington Post", citing unnamed sources. According to the publication, Trump told Putin not to escalate the war in Ukraine. Reuters also published a material, citing an anonymous source who confirmed the information about the phone conversation.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov categorically denied these claims, calling them "pure fiction". "There was no conversation. This is completely at odds with reality," said Peskov and added that the information published by certain publications is an example of the quality of the news that is sometimes disseminated.
When asked if Putin has plans for contact with Trump, Peskov replied that for now there are no specific plans for such talks.
