The Federation Council of the Russian Federation has announced that lifting the ban on long-range strikes against Russia is bringing the world closer to a major world war.
First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Vladimir Dzhabarov, called Washington's decision an “unprecedented step”, to which Moscow will respond “immediately”.
„This is a very big step towards the beginning of the Third World War, and the Americans will do it with the hands of a departing old man who in two months will no longer be responsible for anything”, Moscow announced.
And the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already spoken on this topic.
In September, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the West against allowing Ukraine to use their long-range missiles to strike Russian territory. He stated that Moscow would see this as "direct involvement" of NATO countries in the war in Ukraine, saying it would "significantly change the very essence, the nature of the conflict". “This will mean that NATO countries, the USA and European countries are at war with Russia,” said the Kremlin leader.
On Sunday evening, US media reported that US President Joe Biden lifted the ban on Ukraine using US long-range missiles to strike military targets in the Russian Federation.
