Police in the Republic of Korea have arrested the acting director of the presidential security service, Kim Seung-hoon, Yonhap reported.
Kim Seung-hoon was detained after arriving at the National Investigation Agency headquarters in Seoul for questioning. The acting director of the intelligence agency failed to appear for questioning three times since the first attempt to arrest the president on January 3, which served as the basis for issuing an arrest warrant for the top bodyguard.
Kim Seung-hoon is charged with obstructing authorities. Before his arrest, he himself stated that he was fulfilling his “legal obligations to ensure security“.
