BMW presents its new tuned station wagon

The Bavarians prove once again that the era of boring "family" is long over. BMW Group has made an official and long-awaited announcement that makes fans' hearts beat faster: the new BMW M3 Touring Edition is coming to the market. The premiere of this "tuned" model took place in early November in China, as part of the lavish BMW M Carnival.

This car, positioned in the mid-range station wagon class, comes not just as a practical transporter, but as a real athlete with an extended wheelbase. Under its hood will pulse the well-known, but even more powerful 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with two turbochargers. Thanks to this unit, the station wagon will achieve stunning acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds - a pace that years ago was reserved only for purebred supercars. Of course, practicality has not been forgotten, as the M3 Touring Edition will also offer significantly increased boot space.

Power for every taste

The new M3 Touring Edition will offer a full range of power outputs to satisfy even the most demanding drivers. The standard version will be rear-wheel drive, delivering an impressive 353 kW (480 hp) and 480 Nm of torque. For those looking for even more thrills, the M3 Thunder Edition with rear-wheel drive will be available, with power rising to 375 kW (510 hp).

The top of the range, however, is reserved for the all-wheel drive model. The MxDrive version with all-wheel drive will have a brutal 390 kW (530 hp) - an increase of 15 kW (20 hp) compared to the previous top model.

Interior and technology

The interior of the M3 Touring Edition has also undergone precise changes that emphasize its sporty character. The driver will grip a new M sports multifunction steering wheel, and small but essential details such as the air vents will now be in elegant black, replacing the previous silver accents.

The technological arsenal is no less impressive. The station wagon will be equipped with a modern digital cockpit system, including two large displays: a 12.3-inch for the instrument panel and a 14.9-inch for multimedia. All this will be managed via the latest version of the iDrive 8.5 infotainment system, guaranteeing intuitive control and a rather interesting experience.
