Super-limited Mercedes-Benz W100 600 Landaulet is looking for its new owner

One of only 32 examples in the world, produced for the head of state of Togo, has appeared on the market in impeccable condition and with a mileage of only 40,500 kilometers

When we talk about the absolute zenith of German automotive engineering, the name Mercedes-Benz W100 600 Pullman Landaulet does not just inspire respect – it sounds like a solemn march. Today, collectors around the world held their breath, because one of these "lords of the road", produced in 1977, has appeared on the market in Germany through the experts at Mechatronik. This is not just another classic for sale, but a true technological jewel, whose rarity borders on the mythical. Only 59 examples in the Landaulet version have rolled off the assembly line, with this particular machine being one of only 32 units with four doors – a fact that instantly shoots its value into the stratosphere.

The story of this particular car is worthy of a Hollywood script. Ordered on September 22, 1977, it was intended for the personal garage of the President of Togo - Gnassingbe Eyadéma. Just imagine what a sight this black majesty was, passing along the boulevards, while the head of state greeted the crowds under the open sky in the back of the body. Its first registration was in 1978, and today, decades later, the odometer reads only 40,500 km. The extremely low mileage is just the beginning, as the condition of the car is literally impeccable, as evidenced by the highest possible rating "1" from Classic Data.

Under the huge hood is the legendary 6.3-liter V8 engine, generating a power of 250 hp. Although the weight of this land yacht is impressive, the engine combined with the 4-speed automatic transmission allows the Pullman to reach 205 km/h - a speed that in the 70s was reserved only for elite sports models. Acceleration to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds was so easy that passengers hardly felt the world outside begin to blur. The real magic, however, lies in the hydraulics: a complex system pressurized to 150 bars controls as many as 15 functions, including the famous soft suspension and the silent movement of the windows and seats.

Visually, the car has undergone a meticulous restoration that respects its past but adds a pinch of new splendor. The original black paint has been preserved in all its glory, but the interior has been transformed - the old gray leather has given way to a bold and noble red interior. The investment in maintenance is colossal, with €30,000 invested in authentic spare parts in 2021 alone to ensure that every bolt meets Stuttgart standards. The price? As expected, it is only disclosed to serious bidders upon request, but for such a piece of history, the amount is certainly not small.
