One of 153: Alpina B7 Turbo "Shark Coupe" from 1981 is sold for the price of a new BMW 7 Series

One of the rarest and most exciting examples for connoisseurs of the Bavarian classic has appeared on the market, igniting passions among collectors. It is the legendary Alpina B7 Turbo Coupe, based on the iconic E24 generation, which many call the “Shark“ because of its predatory profile. The announced price of approximately 126,500 euros puts the potential buyer in a serious dilemma: to invest in a brand new BMW 7 Series or to own a valuable piece of automotive history, the value of which is still growing.

The technical heart of this coupe is a true engineering jewel, ahead of its time. Under the hood, a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder unit pulses, assisted by a KKK K27 turbocharger. This configuration provides a power of 301 hp and a torque of 462 Nm - parameters that even by today's standards inspire respect. All this raw power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a precise 5-speed manual transmission, allowing the car to reach over 250 km/h, after having “nailed“ the hundred mark in just 6.7 seconds.

The particular machine, which left the famous factory in Buchloe in April 1981, is in impeccable health. Since 2004, the car has been in the hands of a single owner, who has clearly spared no expense in maintaining it. Proof of this are the invoices from official BMW and Alpina dealers, which exceed an impressive 40,000 euros. With a mileage of 143,100 km and a full service history, including the last inspection in May 2025, the car is ready for new adventures without any complaints.

In addition to its impressive potential, this Alpina offers authentic factory equipment, which includes Bilstein sports shock absorbers, a limited-slip differential and the classic 16-inch multi-spoke wheels with the brand logo. The package also includes the original purchase invoice from Liechtenstein, the three factory keys and even the original spare tire.

The exclusivity of the model is the main driver of its high price. Between 1978 and 1982, only 153 examples of the Alpina B7 Turbo Coupe E24 series were produced, and the presented car is one of the last assembled. This makes it not just a vehicle, but an exceptional long-term investment, carrying the unique spirit of the golden era in automotive engineering.
