Annual inflation in Germany slows to 2.1%

The annual inflation rate in Germany slowed to 2.1% in April from 2.2% in March, the Federal Statistical Office of Germany reported.

Consumer prices in Germany rose by 0.4% in April compared with March. On an annual basis, they increased by 2.1%.

So-called core inflation - excluding food and energy prices - accelerated to 2.9%. It was 2.6% in March.
