The Italian market competition watchdog (Antitrust) has fined the company of fashion designer Giorgio Armani 3.5 million euros, reported the ag. ANSA.
The company, which produces several lines under the Armani brand, has an opaque commercial policy, “misleading on issues of social responsibility and ethics“. This concerns guarantees for the rights of workers in hired and secondary enterprises working on orders. Previously, the company Armani Operations, controlled by Giorgio Armani S. p. A., was suspected of exploiting labor in organizing the production of a number of products.
Armani is one of the few Italian brands that was not sold to foreign investors. Giorgio Armani, who turned 91 on July 11, is one of the richest people in Italy.
