The testimony of the anonymous witness does not incriminate Blagomir Kotsev. This was stated on Nova TV by lawyer Nikolay Vladimirov, one of the defenders of the mayor of Varna.
According to him, there is a lot of speculation about the anonymous witness. According to him, the only thing that is known is that he speaks Russian.
The lawyer pointed out that the line of all the witnesses is the same - in 2024, at an unspecified place, on an unspecified date, a person from the mayor's team offered his services for a fee. He emphasized that no bribe was given or received.
Vladimirov noted that the witness claims that he was offered to move documents for a fee. The anonymous witness believed that part of the amount he requested was for the mayor of Varna, he explained.
The lawyer stated that it was not clear whether he was a protected witness or a witness with a hidden identity. His testimony was not specific, and Kotsev's name was mentioned for color, Vladimirov emphasized. He added that the person was urgently summoned after the release of the two municipal councilors from arrest. According to him, the goal is to use him for the measure of Blagomir Kotsev.
The defense attorney for the mayor of Varna pointed out that eight months is the maximum term for detention. If the case goes to court before that, it can be extended. Nikolay Vladimirov admits that an indictment may not be filed in court.
