Peykov: We do not believe in promises

The budget must be withdrawn and reconsidered

We do not believe in promises, the budget must be withdrawn and reconsidered. This was stated by the MP from PP-DB Manol Peykov in the program “Wake up”.

“Borisov came out after the first protest and said: “We are withdrawing the budget”. Then Mr. Zafirov entered Peevski's office and shortly after gave Borisov an ultimatum and he refused to withdraw the budget. We simply cannot believe in promises. The issue is a matter of principle – this budget must be withdrawn, reconsidered and revised”, said Peykov.

He added that it is not about a “dividend” tax, nor about SUPTO, but about the way the country is governed.

The score after the protest: Pepper spray against protesters and three injured police officers

According to him, if there are problems, they will be because of the budget, but there are people who will try to blame them on the eurozone.

”You know how many people, incited by certain forces, claim that the euro will be disastrous for us, but in fact the problem is the budget – and it coincides with the euro, and many people will abuse it”, said Peykov.

He said that he would participate in 2 protests on Monday. First it will be in Plovdiv, and later it will be in Sofia.

„The protest is absolutely political. Every serious protest has political goals. Here we are talking about politics as understood in its original sense – from the time of Ancient Greece, where it was believed that a person, if he is not politically engaged, is not at the level of other citizens”, said Peykov.

„If the government falls, it will be its own fault. They do not have understanding among themselves”, said Peykov.

Before that, he also explained about the campaign for Blagomir Kotsev. Peykov said that he collected 236,000 leva, and Filip Bukov – 70,000. „I transferred 200,000 directly to the Varna District Court”, said Peykov. Next week he will talk to Bukov to decide what the rest of the money should be used for. "It should be something symbolic and something that unites all of us and is related to his cause. For me, a good idea would be for a part of the amount to go to the fund that your colleagues started some time ago against “SLAPP cases”. Because this is a very similar type of political case. I wish it was something that was related, because after all, this is the will of the donors”, said Peykov.
