In her words, the budget was the occasion on which public discontent poured out, and the main reason for the protest is "dissatisfaction with the government". "People understood that if the budget is adopted, they will not live well in the coming years," Bachvarova said.
"The protest very quickly found its folklore - various songs, music, paintings. This is an exceptionally accurate indicator that there is a more substantial spirit in this phenomenon," she added.
The former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior noted that in terms of age, the protest was dominated by young people and the professionally active.
"We have a new phenomenon. It is already becoming a factor in socio-political life, which politicians will have to take into account," Bachvarova noted. When asked how long GERB leader Boyko Borisov will put up with the pressure and the protests, she replied that he realizes how serious the problem is.
"If Radev has decided to form a party and there are niches on the left, whether it will be in three months or in 13 months, it will happen anyway," Bachvarova said.
"Every government has an alternative," the former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior emphasized.
