First hearing of the year in the landmark case against Kiril Petkov for the arrests of Boyko Borisov, Sevdelina Arnaudova and Vladislav Goranov, reports BNT. The former leader of "We Continue the Change" is accused of official crimes in his capacity as Prime Minister. Petkov is accused of ordering the arrests of Borisov, Arnaudova and Goranov in March 2022, without having the legal authority to do so.
A total of 4 witnesses are expected to be questioned at the hearing at the Sofia City Court today. Two of them are former employees of the National Police General Directorate.
In November last year, the court postponed the hearing in the case because Kiril Petkov's defense requested to familiarize themselves with all 48 volumes of materials from the pre-trial proceedings, after which they would be included in the case.
