“The situation with inflation is known to society, but it seems not to the government.“. This was stated by the leader of the list of “BSP - UNITED LEFT“ in Silistra Vladimir Marinov in the program “Speak Now“ on BNT.
According to him, the priorities of BSP-OL are focused in three key directions - guaranteeing energy supplies, supporting business and real help for people. “For nearly 2 million people in Bulgaria, we are talking about survival, not development.“, he emphasized.
Marinov described the proposed €20 aid for fuel as “a mockery”, both because of its size and because of the difficult access to it. According to him, the state has real mechanisms to influence prices through VAT and excise duties, but it does not use them.
“The state must take measures, even short-term ones, to help people get out of the crisis.“, he stated, giving an example of practices in other European countries aimed at transport and agriculture.
In this regard, Marinov pointed out that the BSP is proposing specific measures to support agricultural producers, including reimbursement of part of the costs of fuel on invoices. “If we don't help the sector today, it will be too late in a month.“, he warned.
Regarding tax policy, the candidate for MP stated that it is high time to introduce progressive income taxation. “It is not fair for people with low and high incomes to be taxed in the same way.“, Marinov emphasized, specifying that a non-taxable minimum is envisaged for low incomes, while there will be no change for the middle class.
In the context of the demographic crisis, he pointed out that its solution involves the restoration of the regions: “In order for young people to stay, three things are needed - livelihood, access to healthcare and access to education.“
Marinov also expressed a categorical position against shale gas extraction: “The extraction method is unacceptable - This is the injection of water, sand and chemicals into the soil under high pressure, which carries serious risks.“ He also warned of the danger of a model in which “someone earns billions, and Bulgaria receives symbolic concession fees“.
In conclusion, Vladimir Marinov called for support for “BSP – UNITED LEFT“ with number 5 - the only left-wing, solidary and fair political force.
