The Council of Ministers will discuss the adoption of a National Program for Tuberculosis Prevention until 2030.

The Council of Ministers (CoM) will discuss a Draft Decision for the adoption of a National Program for Tuberculosis Prevention in the Republic of Bulgaria for the period 2026 - 2030. This is provided for in the agenda of today's government meeting, the press service of the cabinet announced. The submitter of the proposal is the Minister of Health.

Early and rapid diagnosis, screening among vulnerable groups, timely treatment, training of medical professionals, increased awareness among the population are part of the measures envisaged in the draft National Program for Tuberculosis Prevention, which was published for public discussion.

A total of 18 items are included in the agenda of the Council of Ministers meeting. The cabinet is also expected to consider a proposal to the National Assembly to ratify the Agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity in Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction. The ministers will also discuss a draft decision on the adoption of a Strategy for the Development of the Bulgarian Defense-Technological Industrial Base.

The meeting will also consider a proposal to approve additional payment of assistance to applicants under the "Program for Humanitarian Assistance to Displaced Persons from Ukraine with Temporary Protection in Bulgaria".

The meeting is expected to begin at 4:00 p.m.
