Five men died in a serious accident near Botevgrad. The incident occurred on the ring road to Novachene at around 7:30 a.m. on Friday. A truck and a passenger car collided head-on when, for unclear reasons, the car entered the oncoming traffic. All victims were traveling in the car.
The "Road Infrastructure" Agency indicates that traffic in the area is limited, Nova TV specifies. Passenger car traffic in the direction of Sofia is carried out on road II-16 Sofia - Rebarkovo, and in the direction of Vratsa it is diverted via Botevgrad - Skravena - Novachene. Heavy goods vehicles in the direction of Sofia are waiting at the scene. Traffic is regulated by the "Traffic Police".
On the weekends around May 1 and St. George's Day, increased traffic is expected throughout the republican road network, with the number of vehicles in the coming days reaching about 1.7 million vehicles per day.
