The Committee on Labour, Social and Demographic Policy in the Parliament adopted in the first reading a draft law on amendments and additions to the Law on the State Public Insurance Budget (SSP) for 2024, submitted by deputies from the Parliamentary Groups (PG) of GERB- SDS Denitsa Sacheva and Temenuzka Petkova and from DPS – Yordan Tsonev and Stanislav Anastasov.
The bill was passed with 13 votes “for“ and five “abstained”. The commission rejected with six votes “for“, one “against“ and 11 “abstained“ bill of “Revival“ to grant an Easter supplement in the amount of BGN 100 for all pensioners, as well as to provide funds for Christmas supplements in the same amount. From “Revival“ proposed that the funds be for the additional mandatory pension insurance for the period from April to the end of the year, and that the money be transferred to the account of DOO, writes BTA.
According to the estimates, the funds will be at the expense of the state social insurance budget for 2024. The reasons also say that around 534,000 pensioners will be supported for Easter.
The proposal is to grant an Easter supplement in the amount of BGN 75 to pensioners whose pensions or the sum of them, together with supplements and compensations to them for April 2024, is up to and including BGN 526, as is also the poverty line for this year. The importers note in the reasons for the bill that 40 million BGN are needed for this purpose.
