From 2:00 p.m. today, May 15, to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, traffic is restricted to heavy goods vehicles over 12 t from the 35th km to the 30th km (road connection "Vitinska Reka") on the highway (AM) "Hemus" in the direction of Sofia, due to emergency repair of the viaduct at the 34th km. This was announced by the "Road Infrastructure" Agency, BTA reported.
During the implementation of the emergency activities, the heavy traffic to Sofia will be diverted along a bypass route of the 35th km on a service road connection, on the I-1 Sofia road – Botevgrad and will return to AM “Hemus“ at the road connection “Vitinska River“ at km 30th km.
Agency “Road infrastructure“ appeals to drivers to drive carefully and at an appropriate speed, to obey the traffic rules and not to undertake risky overtaking. Not to use emergency lanes on motorways to move faster in heavy traffic. In this way, the passage of vehicles with a special traffic mode is prevented in the event of an accident.
Changes in the traffic organization until June 7 are also between the 20th and 21st km of the “Trakia“ AM, in the direction of Sofia, for the repair of an agricultural underpass. Traffic will pass in both directions on the repaired road to Burgas, and the speed of the section will be up to 50 km/h.
