„If you look carefully at the strategic documents that were signed at the meeting between the leaders of China and Russia, we will see that they have one main message that concerns the American presence in the Pacific.“

This is what the international relations and crisis management expert Associate Professor Iskren Ivanov commented in the Euronews Primetime studio on the occasion of the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China.

„Only 10% of the discussed issues were dedicated to Ukraine. There, the line was extremely clear, namely that Russia supports the Chinese proposal for the settlement of this conflict,” commented Prof. Ivanov.

„About 90% of the content of the strategic documents that were signed between the two leaders is about the fact that both of them declared against the expansion of American influence and American allies in the Asia-Pacific region. This was the real message of this meeting”, the expert believes.

„There is no Asian NATO, and this worries China, because the Americans are trying to create such mechanisms to guarantee the security of their allies in the Asia-Pacific region,”, he also commented.
