17:00: Radev receives the parties for consultations for an official cabinet

The name of the candidate for prime minister will be unclear, as well as the date for elections

President Rumen Radev invites today, August 8, from 17 hours, the parties are consulting for an office, NOVA reported.

In his words, the Constitution does not oblige the candidate for acting prime minister to attend these consultations.

We are all experiencing the aftershocks of the ill-fated changes to the Constitution, which have an even more destructive effect than the process of their adoption. These changes backfire on their creators, and that's not the biggest problem. The problem is that they are already eroding the foundations of parliamentarism and a number of important institutions - the National Assembly, the BNB, the Audit Chamber and the Ombudsman. This was stated by the President Rumen Radev to journalists.

According to him, the candidate for acting prime minister is not yet clear, as some of them are currently abroad, and he added that the options are extremely few because of changes.

He reiterated that he was not involved in "conspiracies" for the removal of Raya Nazaryan from the Speaker of the National Assembly. "Even if there was such a conspiracy to install a convenient chairman, they have apparently forgotten that I have the last word in this process and I will never appoint such a person, if God will, as I will never allow such disgusting attitude towards Bulgarian parliamentarism", the head of state also pointed out.

Rumen Radev also specified that "very soon" it will be clear when the new cabinet will convene and what will be the date for the parliamentary elections.
