"The fire started at 3 p.m. The cause was some glass, which in the intense heat becomes a magnifying glass and due to the strong wind from the south it ignited and spread. In 5-6 minutes it reached half of the village. 1 house was affected - 100% burned and two or three more partially. We have no victims, I want to thank the fire teams who responded immediately, all the tenants, volunteers", said Blagomir Stanev, mayor of the village. Belgun.

The Regional Directorate for “Fire Safety and Population Protection“ - Sliven received a signal of a fire in the land of the village of Konyovo in Nova Zagora at 1:00 p.m., the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Sliven reported, BTA reported. Due to the strong wind, the fire spread to the village of Staro Selo and covered an area of about 350 acres, mainly dry grass, bushes and stubble.
The fire was completely extinguished at around 6:30 p.m. by five teams of the RDPBZN - three from Sliven and two from Nova Zagora. No people were injured and no direct material damage was caused. Thanks to the quick intervention of the firefighters, several buildings in the area were saved.
