The Bulgarian political scientist, journalist and geopolitical analyst Simeon Milanov and his podcast “People's Power“ occupy a central place in the native alternative media space.

They focus on commentaries on issues of international relations, global security and domestic politics of Bulgaria, as well as geopolitical analyses with a strongly expressed conservative, sovereignist and pro-Russian bias. The propaganda role of the platform is manifested through the systematic promotion of specific narratives, which often overlap with those of the official Russian state media.

Milanov often argues in his platform the need for a “geopolitical turn“ for Bulgaria, questioning its membership in NATO and the EU and advocating for closer relations with Eurasia and Russia.

The topic of the “decline of the American neo-empire“ and the failure of the neoliberal model, which, according to the authors, is “burying“ Bulgaria, is regularly addressed.

The podcast provides analyses that consistently highlight Russian military successes and predict territorial losses and defeat for Ukraine.

Milanov positions himself against liberal policies, often discussing topics such as “the replacement of the Bulgarian people“ and threats to national identity.

By inviting interlocutors with similar views (for example, Assoc. Prof. Georgi Dimov), the channel creates the impression of “expertise“ that opposes the “official“ media.

The use of dramatic headlines (“The Front is “ruins“, “Without regret“) aims to evoke an emotional response and a sense of urgency in the audience.

The project is supported through platforms such as Patreon and direct donations, which reinforces its image as an independent voice, “outside the system“.
Milanov also actively uses social networks such as Facebook to expand the reach of his videos and analyses, seeking to consolidate an audience critical of the country's current political course.
