Bulgarian driver of Campos Racing Nikola Tsolov performed magnificently in the Formula 2 race at the "Albert Park" circuit in Melbourne and achieved his first victory.

Nikola Tsolov started the race very strongly and progressed from fifth to third place. The Bulgarian stuck behind Alex Dunn, who also made a very strong start and came second behind his teammate Martinius Stenshorn. Alex Dunn and Martinius Stenshorn collided on the third lap and this worked well for Nikola Tsolov, who led the column.

Dunn prepared his attack, then overtook his teammate, but began to brake early and Stenshorn crashed into him, which led to the elimination of both drivers. A safety car was immediately brought out. Nikola Tsolov reacted very coolly and was able to follow what was happening between Dunn and Stenshorn to take the lead.

Tsolov entered the pits at the end of the ninth lap and after a clean pit came out fifth behind the drivers who had a different strategy. Dino Beganovic overtook Rafa Camara on the 15th lap and came out behind Tsolov. Beganovic suffered damage to his car and retired on the 17th lap. Initially, the race was held under a virtual safety car, and on the 19th lap a safety car came out on the track. Nico Varone took advantage of the safety car and entered the pits to change tires, which brought him back to the track in first place ahead of Nikola Tsolov.

After the safety car was removed, on the 22nd lap Tsolov made a very good restart of the race and overtook Varone, thus coming out in first place. Nico Varone received an additional 5-second penalty for speeding in the pits. Rafa Camara managed to overtake Varone on lap 27 and take second place.

Nikola Tsolov dominated at "Albert Park" and opened up a gap of more than 2 seconds over second-placed Rafa Camara at the end of the race.

“I was dreaming and dreaming about what happened today", Tsolov said immediately after the end of the race.
