Bayern saved €5m by appointing Tuchel as England manager

The specialist had an ongoing contract with the Bavarians despite no longer managing them

The news of Thomas Tuchel's appointment as England manager she certainly pleased a lot of people in Bayern, writes Sportal.bg. Today it became officially clear that the former coach of the Bavarians from January 1 next year will stand at the head of the “three lions”.

And the reason for the positive emotions in Bayern is prosaic - Tuchel had a contract with the German giant until the end of June 2025, although he left the club already this summer. Accordingly, Bayern paid the mentor's due salary, which is around 9 million euros per year.

With the appointment of Tuchel as English coach, the Bavarians will now save nearly 5 million euros, reports journalist Christian Falk from “Bild”. There was an agreement between the club and the coach that Bayern would not ask for any compensation money once he found a new club or became a national team coach.

So all parties involved are happy - Tuchel has a new job, Bayern saves a lot of money from his salary, which he will no longer pay from the beginning of the new year, and the English Football Association will not have to pay penalties.
